Bowling Green, KY- Goalkeeper Georgia Martell continues her success earning back-to-back MSC defensive player of the week honors. The Brisbane native played in all 90 minutes of UC's match against #5 Spring Arbor.

The Patriots traveled to Lima, OH this past week to compete in the UNOH College Soccer Showcase. Martell showed out during UC's match against #5 Spring Arbor. During the game, the goalie was able to make 5 saves on 5 shots on goal. The game ended in a 0-0 tie, giving the Pats their third shutout of the season.

This is Martell's fourth time earning MSC weekly awards in her career. She secured defensive player of the week twice during the 2021 season, and the third came just last week after her performance in matches against #7 Marian and #3 Central Methodist.

Martell now has 18 saves on the season, giving her an overall SV% of .900. The goalkeeper has been a crucial part of UC's defense during this 2022 season. She has earned the most MSC weekly honors and even an NAIA defensive player of the week award.

Cumberlands takes the field again this afternoon, Monday September 5, against RV University of Northwestern Ohio. Kickoff is set for 1PM in Lima, OH where the team will look to close out their run in the UNOH College Soccer Showcase with a win. Livestream of the game can be viewed here.
