Lexington, KY – The final day of the Rod McCravy Memorial was highlighted by a national standard performance from
Tristan Petrey in the pole vault competition. Petrey cleared the bar at 4.73m in his first attempt to hit an NAIA "B" standard and book his ticket to the NAIA National Championships later this year.
Deshawn Crowe put together another impressive performance this weekend, this time in the 800m run. The sophomore paced a 1:56.77 time for seventh, just one second off a national standard.
Lonnell Johnson accompanied his teammate in the top-10 with a 1:56.92 finish.
Andrew Barker placed 13
th with a 2:01.20 time while Clay Hogue and
Dillan Melchiore finished in 15
th and 16
th with times of 2:02.41 and 2:05.64.
Lucas Lambo rounded out UC's top-10 individual finishers on Saturday. Lambo reached a distance of 13.68m in the shot put for 10
th.
Xavier Ramsey and
Logan White finished back-to-back in this event with throws of 12.72m and 12.45m respectively.
The 400m and the 3000m races both saw 26
th place finishes out of the Pats.
Christian Dingus represented UC in the 400m, finishing his race in 54.03 while
Noah McClellan raced to a 8:53.50 finish in the 3k.
The 4x400 relay was the final event of the weekend and UC put two squads in the top-10. Cumebrlands A squad of
Jeremy Slaughter,
Kerrington Eubanks,
Deshawn Crowe, and
Lonnell Johnson put together a 3:26.54 finish for ninth. The B squad consisting of
Christian Dingus,
Andy Tchyombo,
Matthew Yeary, and
Garrett Hadaway came in 10
th with a 3:35.48 finish.
UC will compete again a week from now and are set to compete in multiple meets over the weekend.
