Columbia, KY- Patriots late rally was not enough as the Patriots dropped MSC play opener 5-4 to Lindsey Wilson. Both
Charlie Muniz and
Caden Petrey ended the day with extra base hits.

The Blue Raiders took a 5-0 lead into the sixth. Then Muniz led off the sixth with a solo homerun to put the Pats on the board, 5-1. In the Patriots next at bat,
Josiah Santiago got walked with two outs. Then Petrey stepped in the box and got a two-run shot to cut the gap to 5-3.
Later in the ninth, UC needed at least two runs to win or send it into extra innings.
Evan St Claire led off with a single towards first. Two batters later, Petrey doubled down the left field line. After a change of pitcher
Raphy Almanzar got hit by a pitch to load the bases. A few pitches into the next at bat the Patriots would score on a wild pitch to make it 5-4. That would be as close as they got, as the Blue Raiders got the final two outs before another run was scored.
Cumberlands dropped to 8-2 and will look to rebound in tomorrows doubleheader to take the series.
