Bourbonnais, IL – The second-ranked UC women's soccer team recorded their best offensive output of the season as they scored four unanswered goals to knock off 19th-ranked Olivet Nazarene 4-1 Monday afternoon.  With the win, the Patriots improve to 4-0-2 on the year, while Olivet Nazarene moves to 1-2-2.

The Patriots had seven players tally at least one point in the win, including Kallen Fuller and Anabel Luedecke, who both recorded the first points of their collegiate career's.  The Luedecke joined Sarah Hammerstone, Carola Fontan, and Jayden Boelter in the scoring column, while Fuller, Rita Aguye Cots, and Noah Paalman finished with an assist each.  Laura Vogt earned the win after picking up a pair of saves in the contest.

Olivet Nazarene notched the first shot of the game, which was blocked by the Patriots defense.  The Tigers kept the offense pressure and earned a corner kick a few minutes later, which they scored on to take the 1-0 lead 5:58 into the first half.  UC was looking for an answer tallying two corner kicks and a pair of shots over the next five minutes.  In the 11', UC played the ball was back to Rita Aguye Cots, who centered it for Sarah Hammerstone.  Hammerstone sent a line-drive shot from 35-yards out just under the crossbar for the equalizer.  It was the second goal of the year for the Bowling Green, KY native.

The two teams traded possession over the next 15 minutes until the Patriots pushed the ball into the left corner of the pitch.  After forcing a turnover, Kallen Fuller made two dribbles before passing it to Carola Fontan at the top of the box, who put a well-placed lob shot just inside the far post giving UC the 2-1 advantage.  Olivet Nazarene tallied a couple crosses and shots, however the Patriots defense led by Laura Vogt turned them away giving UC a 2-1 advantage at half.

Cumberlands came out strong in the second half tallying two shots, including one on frame a couple minutes into the second half.  Olivet Nazarene tallied three shots, two of which were blocked, before Abigail Little put a shot on frame, however it was saved keeping UC in front 2-1.  A few minutes later, Nicole Araujo pushed the ball forward and passed it to Noah Paalman just outside the box.  The sophomore set up Anabel Luedecke for a lob shot just over the goalie head and into the back of the net to extend the lead to 3-1.  A couple minutes later, the Tigers had a free kick from just outside the penalty box and Vogt made a diving save to her right to turned it away.  The score remained 3-1 until the 72' when Jayden Boelter stole the ball and raced up field for a 1v1 with the goalie and finishing it off with her sixth goal of the season to make it 4-1 in favor of Cumberlands.  The Tigers added two shots over the final 15 minutes with Vogt make a save for the 4-1 final.

The Patriots return to the pitch on Saturday, September 16, when they travel to Portsmouth, OH to face Shawnee State in their final match before conference play.  Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
