UC Men's Bowling Finishes 11th in Opening Tournament

Indianapolis, IN – The UC men's bowling team started the season with an 11th place finish out of 31 teams at the Columbia 300 Shootout.
 
Cumberlands tallied 9380 total pins over the two-day tournament. UC knocked down 6110 pins in the six team games on Saturday to sit in 12th place. The Pats rose one spot after the 16 baker games on Sunday.
 
Junior Austin Hale led the way for UC and placed seventh overall. He knocked down 1395 pins through six games for a 232.5-pin average. The Mt. Washington, KY native's best score came in game five with 267 pins. He was the second-best NAIA finisher.

Freshman Austin Nelson had an impressive performance in his first collegiate match, placing 65th and knocking down 1241 pins through six games for a 206.8 pin average. Nelson's best score came in game five with 256 pins.
 
Trine University finished first with 10215 pins, while Davenport University and Purdue University rounded out the top-three.
 
The Pats return to the lanes next Saturday, October 19th for the Orange Classic in Beavercreek, OH.
