Kansas City, MO – The top-ranked Patriots women's soccer team off to the program's best start since 1999 and is has continued its historic start Tuesday as forward Jayden Boelter and goalie Georgia Martell were named the NAIA Players of the Week.  It marks the first time that UC has swept national player of the week honors and this came on the heels of a pair of shutout victories.

Boelter was named the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season and the third time in her career as she continues to lead Cumberlands offense.  The Hebron, KY native tallied five points over the two matches, playing a vital role in UC's two top-20 wins.  Boelter opened the week with a goal and an assist in the win over #18 Georgia Gwinnett, including earning an assist on the game-winning goal 3:10 into the match.  The senior added a goal in the 12' to extend UC's lead to 3-0.  Against #12 Campbellsville, Boelter headed in the game-winning goal off a Carola Fontan cornerkick in the 81' as the Patriots earned the 1-0 victory over the Tigers.  It was her 20th goal of the season, which ties her career-high and is third most in program history as the senior has netted at least one goal in every match this season.
 
For the third time in her career and the second straight season, Georgia Martell has been named the NAIA Defensive Player of the Week.  Martell held two NAIA top-20 opponents scoreless in a 176:51 minutes of action on the week as Cumberlands tallied back-to-back clean sheets.  The Brisbane, Australia native finished the week with seven saves over the two matches.  Martell made two saves in the win over #18 Georgia Gwinnett.  The senior followed that up with five saves, including a pair of diving saves in the first half to earn the 1-0 win over Campbellsville.  In addition to those saves, Martell ended multiple scoring threats by the Tigers. On the year, the Brisbane, Australia native has 29 saves and a .879 goals against average.
 
Cumberlands returns to the pitch Friday, October 18, when they host #16 Cumberland.  The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m. with live video available here.
