UC Men's Bowling Finishes Ninth in First MSC Contest

Smyrna, TN – The Cumberlands men's bowling team earned a top-ten finish in their first Mid-South Conference tournament of the season. The Patriots placed ninth out 18 teams in the field on Saturday. UC knocked down 5335 pins overall through four team games and eight baker games.

Liam McNamara led the way for the Pats and placed 36th overall. McNamara had a total pinfall of 799 through four games for a 199.8-pin average. The Spanaway, WA native posted his best score in the fourth game with 213 pins.

Owen McClure was second on the leaderboard for UC. The freshman placed 48th with a total pinfall of 765 for a 191.3-pin average. His best score came in game two with 233 pins.

Matthew Yazell placed 97th, knocking down 611 pins through four games for a 203.7-pin average. His best score came in game four with 218 pins.

Austin Nelson knocked down 592 pins through three games for a 197.3-pin average and Aidan Longo totaled 529 pins through three games for a 176.3-pin average.

Milligan placed first in the team games with 4254 pins while Belmont Abbey (4087) and Campbellsville (4043) round out the top-three.

UC will be in action again tomorrow for day two of Mid-South Conference play.
