Life struck first in the third quarter, however, the Patriots responded quickly with an unassisted goal from Mia Rask to make it 8-2.  The team traded possession over the next four minutes before Rittman scored a goal extending the lead to 9-2 midway through the third period.  The Running Eagles netted four unanswered goals to cut the lead to 9-6 heading into the fourth quarter.

Rittman scooped the opening draw control of the fourth quarter and Helsten completed her hat trick nine seconds later with an unassisted goal.  Life went on a 3-1 run before Baker put a well placed shot past the goalie to make it 12-9 with 6:51 remaining.  The Running Eagles added two goals to cut the score to 12-11 with 3:46 remaining.  UC's defense clamped down as Rask forced a turnover, while Bosah made four saves in the closing minute before Hadac scooped a ground ball to secure the win.
