Williamsburg, KY – No. 4 Cumberlands Baseball (28-4, 4-0) secured a 6-1 victory in game one of the Mid-South Conference series against Lindsey Wilson College (13-17, 1-6), on Friday afternoon at Doyle Buhl Stadium. UC's pitcher, Knicko Billings defended the Patriots' home territory from the mound, throwing two career-highs. The batters ended with nine hits, three of which were doubles and two homers.

Knicko Billings stands at 5-0 on the season, after throwing his first complete nine inning game, while notching a career-high of 13 strikeouts. The senior went three up, three down in five innings and allowed just one hit and one run across the game.

At the plate, Ben Snapp led the team, finishing 2-for-4 with an RBI double to break a tie game. Johnboy Rittenhouse and Alec Gonzalez both went 1-for-4 with two RBIs after hitting a pair of two-run homers. Charlie Muñiz batted 1-for-4 with an RBI single.

After two scoreless innings, UC plated one run to lead 1-0, in the bottom of the third. Trent Prokes reached base on a double to left field and was advanced after the next batter, Christian Thompson, was hit by a pitch. To put the Patriots on the board, Charlie Muñiz singled through the right side, sending Prokes home.

The Blue Raiders tied the ballgame at 1-1 with a solo home run in the top of five, Billings' only allowed hit of the game.

Cumberlands responded with a run in the bottom of the sixth, to take back the lead, 2-1. Max Harper doubled to right center and scored on a Ben Snapp single.

In the bottom of the eighth frame, two home runs extend UC's lead to 6-1 over Lindsey Wilson. Evan St. Claire was issued a lead-off walk and Johnboy Rittenhouse followed by sending a long ball over the left field fence. The next batter, Caden Petrey, singled to reach base and scored when Alec Gonzalez sent a home run out to left.
