Louisville, KY – The Patriots finished their weekend at the Rod McCravy Memorial on Saturday. The women completed day two with a pair of national standards and four top-10 times in the NAIA.
Tarikua Majocchi made her indoor 3K debut on Saturday and made the most of it, running a 10:04.79 for sixth overall, and a national B standard.
Alina Boshchuk followed closely behind her teammate, crossing the finish line in 10:07.58 for seventh, and another B cut as well. Both times are top-10 in the NAIA so far this year. Maelyn Cooper came in with a 10:59.38 finish for 17
th while
Chloe West and
Anslee Crosby posted times of 11:08.34 and 11:12.78 for 19
th and 20
th.
The 400m saw
Abia Kante place 16
th with a 57.50 time, just one hundredth of a second off the NAIA B cut. Kante's time is the third fastest in the nation this indoor season.
Elizabeth Lucason was the top UC finisher in the mile on Saturday, running a 5:11.54 for 12
th overall in a highly competitive field. This time marks a top-10 time in the NAIA this year.
Jasmin Ponce also ran the mile, clocking a 5:43.51 finish for 24
th.
A pair of Pats put together top-eight performances in the 800m run, including
Megan Kitchens who ran a 2:22.55 for seventh overall.
Elisa Helferich followed just behind her teammate in eighth place, crossing the finish line in 2:24.51.
The shot put featured three UC throwers on Saturday.
Maggie Buerger led the pack with a 9.79m throw for 16
th overall.
Taylor Lunsford and
Hannah Baker also entered the circle, finishing in 18
th and 19
th with marks of 8.81m and 8.28m, respectively.
Cumberlands will be right back in Louisville, KY next week for the Bellarmine Open. Events stars on Friday, January 17
