Results
Williamsburg, KY – The Patriots women's swimming & diving team closed out the regular season with a 190-82 win over Indiana Wesleyan on senior day, Saturday afternoon at the Patriots Aquatic Center. Cumberlands had two divers achieved the national cut, while collecting 12 wins and 17 NAIA provisional cuts.
After honoring their 2025 senior class, the Patriots opened the meet with
Sarah Zoellner,
Megan Schoenlein,
Filippa Malmstrom, and
Celin Ullern teaming up to post a winning time of 1:52.09 in 200 medley relay.
On one-meter diving both
Sage Lorentz and
Sage Howe hit the NAIA "A" standard. Lorentz, who qualified previously scored a 198.50, while Howe tallied a 182.95 to clip the standard for the first time.
Cumberlands won 11 of the 12 individual swim events, with ten of those wins coming from different swimmers. Senior
Ashley Schoenlein touched the wall in 2:28.71 to win the 200 breaststroke.
Ugne Takuseviciute continued her strong week pickup her third individual win as she pulled away from the field in the 200 free with a time of 2:00.18. She also clocked a 55.64 in the 100 free.
For the second time in two days, Ullern sprinted her way to the win in the 50 free, notching a time of 25.29. UC's continued to find success in the distance free events as
Michelle Weiss touched the wall in 5:22.87 to win the 500 free, while
Juliana Lopez Morales went 10:49.55 to take first place in the 1,000 free.
Madeline Barbee hit the NAIA provisional cut as she went 2:15.16 to win the 200 back. Zoellner followed up the relay win with a first place finish in the 100 back tallying a time of 1:00.77. The sophomore also clocked a 1:00.26 to win the 100 fly.
Megan Schoenlein led a quartet of UC swimmers in the 100 breaststroke that hit the provisional cut. The freshman clocked a 1:08.10 to be the top finisher, with
Moa Nyblom (1:09.09),
Abbey Richardson (1:10.15), and
Kathryn Harrison (1:10.22) all notching top-five placements.
Ximena Melendez Hernandez notched a pair of NAIA provisional cuts in the fly events. The freshman posted a winning time of 2:15.75 in the 200 fly, while earning a runner-up finish in the 100 fly with a time of 1:01.31.
Alicja Sedlak captured the final win of the meet as she clocked a 2:14.98 to win the 200 IM.
Cumberlands sets their sights on the MSC Championships, which is set for February 6-8 in Danville, KY.
