Box Score Louisville, KY – The #13 UC Men's Tennis team fell in their season opener at NCAA D1 foe Bellarmine on Friday afternoon.
The Knights got out to an early 1-0 lead after winning two out of three matches in doubles play. Darius Kuster and Sampras Rakotondrainibe were victorious for Cumberlands in #2 doubles, winning by a score of 6-4.
Darius Kuster gave a great effort in singles, forcing Louie Fletcher to three sets. Kuster opened the match strong with a tough 7-6 win in the first set, before dropping the final two sets at #5 singles.
Sampras Rakotondrainibe also battled in his singles match, playing a highly competitive three sets. The junior won the opening set 6-4, before dropping the next two sets in #6 singles.
The Pats return to the courts on February 6th, as they head to Harrogate, TN to take on Lincoln Memorial.
