Columbia, KY – #10 Cumberlands continued its dominance on Tuesday night, rolling to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-16) road win over No. 25 Lindsey Wilson. It marks the second time this season the Patriots have swept the Blue Raiders, as UC remains perfect at 21-0 overall and 7-0 in Mid-South Conference play while extending its sweep streak to 16 straight matches.
Cumberlands was in complete control from start to finish, hitting .398 as a team with 45 kills and just eight errors while limiting Lindsey Wilson to a .086 attack percentage. Sara Zampedri led the charge with 13 kills, three aces, and eight digs for a match-high 16 points. Brynnley Bryant added nine kills and 11 digs, while Elaina Fischer tallied a career-high eight kills and three blocks. Kara Gipson added seven kills on .636 hitting, and setter Savanah Jolly guided the offense with 37 assists, two aces, and six digs.
The Patriots set the tone in the opening set, pulling away from a 9-8 lead after a Zampedri kill sparked a 6-1 run. Fischer and Gipson provided key points down the stretch before Bryant closed it out with a kill to take the set 25-17.
UC carried that momentum into the second frame, jumping ahead 10-3 behind strong serving from Davey Slaughter and crisp execution from Jolly. The Patriots hit .444 in the set, racking up 19 kills as Fischer, Zampedri, and Bryant each tallied multiple points in a dominant 25-13 win.
Cumberlands never trailed in the third, using early kills from Zampedri and Gipson to grab control. The Patriots' defense held firm, and UC scored the final four points of the match—including a Zampedri ace—to seal the 25-16 victory and the sweep.
The Patriots return to the court Thursday October 14th as they host Campbellsville in MSC play. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. ET.
