Bowling Green, KY – Patriots' swimmer Ugne Takuseviciute earned MSC Women's Swimmer of the Week honors after posting five wins over two meets. It marks her first swimmer of the week honor.

In the season opener against Shawnee State, Takuseviciute clocked a 5:19.44 to win the 500 free.  That time clipped the NAIA provisional cut by eight seconds and is the third fastest 500 free in the NAIA this season.  The sophomore followed that up being part of Cumberlands winning 200 free relay that went 1:42.00.

The sophomore followed that up by notching a trio of wins against the Blue Raiders.  She began the meet by pulling away from the field to clock a 1:58.22 to win the 200 free.  That time ranks fifth in the NAIA this season.  The Siauliai, Lithuania native followed that up by clocking a provisional time of 54.59 to win the 100 free.  Takuseviciute closed out the meet on UC's winning 200 free relay that finished with a time of 1:42.40. 

UC returns to the water Friday, October 31, when they travel to Greencastle, IN to face DePauw University in a two-day meet. The meet is set to begin at 5 p.m.
