Williamsburg, KY – Following a successful collegiate career that helped elevate Cumberlands Baseball to national prominence,
Cooper Morgan has taken the next step in his journey by signing a professional contract with the Adelaide Giants of the Australian Baseball League (ABL).
The ABL, headquartered in Australia, features some of the top emerging and established talent from across the globe. The league has served as a launching pad for numerous professional careers and is known for its competitive play and international reach.
Morgan has become one of Australia's best pitching prospects with a 0.58 ERA with 13 strikeouts in 12.0 innings pitched so far in the SABL.
Morgan, a left-handed pitcher from Canberra, Australia, spent two seasons with the Patriots and was a vital component of a pitching staff that propelled UC to back-to-back deep runs in the Avista NAIA World Series. Known for his competitive edge and ability to produce in high-pressure situations, Morgan was named Mid-South Conference Player of the Week three times during his career.
In the 2025 season, Morgan appeared in 17 games, including six starts, logging 45.0 innings pitched. He tallied 60 strikeouts and held a 4.80 ERA, showcasing his ability to overpower hitters and eat up innings when called upon.
"Cooper was instrumental in our last two trips to the World Series", said Head Coach
Brad Shelton. "He was a dominant reliever that we had a lot of confidence in. I am happy for him and look forward to following his professional career."
Morgan becomes the latest Patriot to sign a professional contract, becoming the fifth senior from last year's team to sign a professional contract.
