Williamsburg, KY – On a historic Senior Night inside the UC Volleyball Gym, the 10th-ranked Cumberlands Volleyball team continued its perfect conference slate and clinched its first-ever Mid-South Conference Regular Season Championship with a dominant 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-15) sweep over Cumberland University. The Patriots remain unbeaten at 29-0 overall and 10-0 in MSC play as they head into the final week of the regular season.
 
UC hit .255 as a team while limiting the Phoenix to a -.018 hitting percentage. Senior Sara Zampedri led the Patriots with a match-high 11 kills, adding 12 digs and an ace for a double-double. Kara Gipson was a force at the net with seven kills and a team-leading five blocks, while Alana Shiery added five kills, three blocks, and seven points. Savanah Jolly dished out 26 assists and tallied 15 digs, directing the offense in one of UC's most complete performances of the season.
 
Brynnley Bryant chipped in five kills and eight digs, and Elaina Fischer was efficient with four kills on .500 hitting and a block assist. Davey Slaughter anchored the defense with 14 digs and three aces, while Kendall Yarber and Autiana Wilson each added service aces as UC recorded seven total in the match.
 
The Patriots came out energized from the first serve, hitting .414 in the opening set and scoring 13 of the final 15 points to win 25-12. Zampedri and Gipson combined for seven kills in the frame as UC's balanced attack proved too much for the Phoenix.
 
Cumberlands maintained control in the second, pulling away midway through behind strong serving from Slaughter and back-to-back kills from Fischer and Shiery to win 25-13. In the third, UC's seniors sealed the title in fitting fashion, closing the night on a 10-3 run highlighted by a Zampedri ace and consecutive blocks from Gipson to clinch the 25-15 win and the first regular-season crown in program history.
 
Cumberlands will be back at home Tuesday November 4^th to take on IU Southeast. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m. ET from the UC Volleyball Gym.
