Danville, KY – The Patriots men's swimming & diving team broke a pair of school records and tallied four wins to close out the Speedo Centre Invite Saturday night. Cumberlands notched 2,378.5 points to finish atop the team standings.
Alexander Poulsen continues his incredible freshman campaign as he clocked a new school record time of 43.57 in the prelims of the 100 free. He followed that up by winning the finals of the 100 free and holding the top-time in the NAIA.
Adam Geddis clocked a 44.44, which is the third fastest time in the NAIA this season, while
Arvid Farro holds the fifth fastest time at 44.97.
Arda Mutlu went 46.88 to clip the national standard.
Cumberlands' continued their dominances on relays as Farro,
Brandon Holder, Geddis, and Poulsen dropped three seconds from their seed time a posted a new school record time of 2:56.39. That is the second fastest time in the NAIA this season.
The Patriots notched a one-two finish in the 200 back.
Brandon Holder tallied a meet record when he touched the wall in 1:47.07 for the win. That is the second fastest time in the NAIA this season and ranks third in program history.
After posting the top qualifying time, Juan Pablo Ramirez Zapata pulled away from the field and went 1:51.01 to secure the 200 fly win. It was the seventh fastest time in program history. Teammate
Zsombor Bene finished runner-up (1:51.59), while
Josh Riegler went 1:54.87 to place sixth.
Sergio Saldamando Martinez led a trio of Pats competing in the 1650 free. The sophomore posted a career-best time of 16:01.83, which ranks second in program history, to place fourth.
Eli Urban clocked a 16:43.71 to finish 10
th, while
Will Gilbert was 11
th at 16:46.52.
The Patriots notched a trio of top-five finishes in the 200 breast.
Fabrizio Pacioni went 2:04.06 for a runner-up finish, while
Jeremiah Koenig placed third after clocking a 2:04.51.
Luke Rich touched the wall in 2:07.04 for fourth place.
In three-meter diving,
Aidan Crutchfield tallied 325.40 points for sixth place.
This wraps up the 2025 portion of Cumberlands schedule. The Patriots will return to the water on Friday, January 9
th, when they travel to Boiling Springs, NC to face NCAA DI Gardner-Webb.
