Cumberlands Women’s Swimming & Diving Records 7 Wins On Day 2 of Speedo Centre Invite

Danville, KY – The Cumberlands women's swimming & diving team placed first in all seven swimming events, while having 19 top-10 finishes on day two of the Speedo Centre Inivte.  The Patriots remain atop the team standings with 1,713 points as UC notched a trio of meet records.

Cumberlands notched their first win early in the day as Bella Hoare, Juliana Lopez Morales, Helena Jarosz, and Ugne Takuseviciute teamed up to post a winning time of 7:42.33 in the 800 free relay.  That time broke the meet record and is the second fastest time in the NAIA this season.

UC went 1:46.64 to win the 200 medley relay and achieve the NAIA A cut.

Bella Hoare and Megan Schoenlein each notched meet records in their respective individual events.  Hoare touched the wall in 4:30.45, clipping the 400 IM meet record.  That time is also the fastest time in the NAIA this season.

Schoenlein dropped a second from her prelim time to go 1:04.63 in the 100 breast, breaking the meet record.  That time is the third fastest time in the NAIA this season.  Moa Nyblom touched the wall in 1:05.97 to place fifth, while Kathryn Harrison was sixth with a time of 1:06.17.  Celin Ullern finished seventh with a time of 1:06.82.

Sarah Zoellner notched a pair of wins on the day beginning with the 100 fly where she went 56.47.  The junior followed that up clocking a 57.98 to win the 100 back, achieving provisional cuts in both events.  Madeline Babree also hit the national cut, clocking a time of 1:01.10. 

Takuseviciute posted a career-best time of 1:52.21 to win the 200 free.  That is the fastest time in the NAIA this season and the second fastest time in program history.  Juliana Lopez Morales went 1:56.55 to place fifth, while Mara Ellerkamp finished 12th after clocking a 2:00.09.

In addition to Hoare, Cumberlands had a trio of swimmers in the A final of the 400 IM.  Jarosz clocked a 4:36.51 for a runner-up finish, while Alicja Sedlak went 4:44.55 to place fifth.  Judit Garreta Yuste finished seventh with a time of 4:50.68.

Filippa Malmstrom (58.79) and Bailey Amerman (59.54) achieved national cuts in the 100 fly.

Morgan Schraudner scored 341.85 points to place third on the 3-meter board, while Alexis Cole (258.80) and Ella Parke (241.15) finished eighth and tenth, respectively. 

UC returns to the pool Sunday, November 23rd, when they close out competition at the Speedo Centre Invite.  Prelims kick-off at 10 a.m.
