Bowling Green, KY – After a strong mid-season meet that saw a plethora of national cuts and season-best, Patriots swimmer Bella Hoare has been named the MSC Swimmer of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.  Hoare collected seven first place finishes, eight national cuts, and four meet records at the Speedo Centre Invite.

The freshman pulled away from the field to touch the wall in 17:15.72 to win the 1650 free.  That time was a meet record, an A cut, and is the top time in the NAIA by eight seconds. It also is the second fastest time by a Patriot swimmer in program history.

The Kidderminster, United Kingdom native also notched the top time in the NAIA as she went 4:30.45 to win the 400 IM.  That time was a new meet record while also being the fourth fastest time in program history.

Hoare closed out her individual swims by earning the top qualifying time in the 200 fly (2:10.35), while touching the wall in 2:10.35 in the 200 IM.  Both of those times rank in the top-10 of the NAIA.

In addition to her individual success, Hoare was part of UC's 800 free relay (7:42.33) and 400 medley relay (3:51.80) that set new meet records.  She was also a part of the Patriots winning 400 free relay and 200 medley relay that went 3:32.58 and 1:46.64, respectively.

This wraps up the 2025 portion of Cumberlands schedule.  The Patriots will return to the water on Friday, January 9th, when they travel to Boiling Springs, NC to face NCAA DI Gardner-Webb.
