11/25/2025 12:55:00 PM

Williamsburg, KY - The Patriots men's and women's track & field programs are gearing up for another exciting campaign as they unveil their 2025-26 indoor schedule. Both squads enter the new season with momentum, looking to build on last year's historic achievements at the NAIA Indoor National Championships, where the women won their first ever red banner and the men finished as NAIA indoor runner-ups.

UC will open the season during the first week of December with a busy slate stretching across multiple states. The Patriots begin competition on Thursday, December 4th, splitting squads between the Montreat Invite in Montreat, NC and the Liberty Kickoff in Lynchburg, VA. Two days later, the team closes out its 2025 calendar at the Commonwealth Opener in Louisville, KY on Saturday, December 6th.

Following the holiday break, Cumberlands returns to action in early January for a heavy stretch of meets across the region. The Patriots open 2026 at the Rod McCravy Memorial on January 9th in Louisville, KY. The next weekend brings a pair of competitions on January 16th, as UC sends athletes to both the Bellarmine University Open in Louisville and the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, TN.

A busy final stretch of regular-season action begins on January 22nd with a trip to Lynchburg, VA for the Brant Tolsma Invitational. UC then returns to Louisville for the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic on January 23rd before traveling south to Winston-Salem, NC for the JDL Invitational on January 25th. The final weekend of January features two high-level competitions on the 30th, as the Patriots compete at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invite in Louisville and the John Thomas Terrier Classic in Boston, MA.

UC will head into February with two more nationally recognized meets. The first is the UAB Green and Gold Invite in Birmingham, AL on February 8th, followed by a split-squad weekend on February 13th at both the Music City Challenge in Nashville, TN and the Don Kirby Elite in Albuquerque, NM, two of the deepest regular-season competitions in the country.

Postseason competition begins on February 17th as Cumberlands returns to the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville, KY for the Mid-South Conference Indoor Championships. It will be familiar territory for the Patriots as they chase another round of conference titles. The women look to add to their run of consecutive championships, while the men battle for their third-straight MSC title.

Two weeks later, the Patriots will travel to Gainesville, FL for the 2026 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships, set to begin Thursday, March 5th. Both programs return national qualifiers and All-Americans who will look to elevate UC's presence on the national stage once again.

Head Coach Bradley Sowder and his staff have added a strong recruiting class of freshmen and transfers who are poised to make an immediate impact. With experience, depth, and national-level returners on both squads, the Patriots are primed for another standout indoor season beginning December 4th at the Montreat Invite and Liberty Kickoff. Coach is very pleased with the schedule this season saying "We have built a strong schedule that will challenge us, while also putting us in great opportunities to celebrate success."
