Patriots Getting It Done in the Classroom with 30 MSC Academic All-Conference Honorees

Bowling Green, KY – As the ninth-ranked Cumberlands women's soccer team is gearing up for their postseason run after shining on the pitch, the Patriots have also excelled in the classroom.  On Tuesday, 30 UC student-athletes garnered MSC Academic All-Conference honors, conference officials announced.
 
It marks the third straight year that UC has had at least 30 MSC Academic All-Conference selections and the fourth consecutive year that the Patriots have led the conference.
 
In addition to the academic all-conference honorees, defender Noah Paalman was named the Patriots representative tot eh MSC Champion of Character Team.
 
Seven Patriot players earned this honor for the third time including Lindsay Coughlin, Carola Fontan, Bella Gianini, Katie Ingram, Madison Long, Noah Paalman, and Alayna Wilson.  Garnering this honor the second year in a row are Caroline Boles, Laura Bosca, Camryn Broz, Payton Byrd, Abigail Little, Natalie May, Siera Metcalfe, and Samantha Sokolove.
  
Additionally, UC had 15 student-athletes garner this distinction for the first time in their careers.  Those student-athletes include Micah Cook, Emerson Cooper, Emersyn Cox, Katie Creekmore, Kristodia Danso, Hannah Engel, Juana Fernandez Calvo, Mackayla Helten, Meghan Mack, Abbey Mack, Blakely McMurrey, Wakana Ose, Ashlee Pisula, Alba Ramirez, and Sara Soto.
 
In order to be nominated for the Academic All-Conference Team each athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have completed at least one year at a college or university. The MSC also recognizes a Champions of Character Team for each championship sport. The student-athletes that are honored on the Champions of Character Team were nominated by their coaches based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values the NAIA embraces.
 
The Patriots have advanced to the semifinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament and will face second-seed Lindsey Wilson on Wednesday, November 5th, at 7 p.m.
