BOWLING GREEN, KY – After a handful of Patriots competed at the Warrior Indoor Invitational over the weekend, Ritorion Vigne and Lebron Williams were named MSC Track Athlete of the Week for their performances in the sprints in Fort Wayne, IN.
On the women's side, freshman sprinter
Ritorion Vigne delivered one of the standout performances of the weekend. She opened her day with a runner-up finish in the 60-meter dash, clocking a 7.69 to place second out of 23 athletes. Vigne followed that with a solid showing in the 200-meter dash, running 26.12 to finish sixth overall, continuing her strong start to the indoor season.
On the men's side, junior
Lebron Williams put together a pair of competitive efforts against a deep sprint field. Williams placed ninth out of 37 competitors in the 60-meter dash, running 6.97, before adding a seventh-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.71.
This marks the first MSC weekly honors for the duo, and gives UC their second straight MSC Track Athlete of the Week on both the men's and women's side.
The Patriots will be back in action after the New Year where they will travel to Louisville, KY for the Rod McCravy Memorial.
