Austin, TX – For the first time in their Patriot careers, Bruno Garcia and Mario Fernandez Garcia earn College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Honors, announced by CSC on Tuesday. Their efforts both on the pitch and in the classroom garnered them First Team (Garcia) and Second Team (Fernandez Garcia) honors.

Both players helped lead the Patriots through another strong season, serving as key contributors across the field and continuing UC's long-standing tradition of academic and athletic excellence.

Garcia just completed his final season with the Patriots as a graduate student in Information Technology Sciences. Earlier this season, he was awarded NAIA Scholar-Athlete and Mid-South Conference Academic All-Conference honors.

On the pitch, Garcia earned NAIA All-Tournament Team recognition, MSC First Team All-Conference honors, and was named MSC Defender of the Week (10/20). During his UC career, Garcia consistently anchored the defensive unit — earning MSC Second Team honors as a junior, MSC Defensive Player of the Year and MSC First Team honors as a sophomore, and MSC Second Team honors as a freshman — helping hold opponents under 1.33 goals per game in three of his four seasons.

Across his career, he earned MSC First Team honors as a sophomore and MSC Offensive Player of the Week accolades in both his sophomore and junior seasons, recording double-digit points in each of his first three campaigns.
