Lawrenceville, GA – The #18 Cumberlands Men's Tennis team traveled to Lawrenceville, GA to compete in the Georgia Gwinnett Invitational on Friday. UC opened with #14 Our Lady of the Lake and fell 4-2.  

The Saints got out to an early 1-0 lead after taking the first two doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Darius Kuster and Sampras Rakotondrainibe emerged victorious in #3 doubles with a 4-3 win.  

Our Lady of the Lake jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a win in #1 singles.  

Gabriele Solda won his match in straight sets at #4 singles 6-4, 6-3 to pick up the win and score the first point for UC.  

Pierluigi Cruypenninck earned a solid win in straight sets over Joao Santos at #6 singles. Cruypenninck's 6-3, 6-3 evened things up at 2-2.  

The Saints won two more matches to secure the victory, while the match was left unfinished. 

The Pats return to the court tomorrow for day two of the Georgia Gwinnett College Invitational in Lawrenceville, GA.
