Bowling Green, KY – After a record-breaking week, Harry Morrice was named MSC Defensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday afternoon. The center dominated the lane this week, averaging 5.5 blocks and 8.5 rebounds, while also scoring 10.5 ppg.
Morrice broke the program record for blocks in a game, finishing with 10 in the Pats huge win over Lindsey Wilson. He finished the game just three rebounds shy of a triple double with 12 points, 10 blocks, and seven rebounds. Morrice's performance helped UC hold the Blue Raiders to just 58 points on the night.
He then added another block against the Tigers along with a game-high 10 rebounds to complete his impressive week on the defensive end of the floor.
This is the second MSC defensive weekly honor for Morrice this season and gives UC their third-straight defensive honoree as Anthony Harris earned it last week, and Morrice earned it the week before. The Patriots now have 10 conference player of the week honorees this season, the most of any team in the Mid-South.
Morrice and the Patriots look ahead to Thursday night where they will make the trip north to Georgetown to take on the third-ranked Tigers. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 with live stats available here, and live video here.
