Gainesville, FL – The Patriots Women's Track & Field program won the 2025 NAIA Indoor T&F Championships for their first red banner in program history. They went into the final day of competition leading the team standings and finished strong with five All-American finishes to boost their score up to 58 points for first overall.

Head Coach Bradley Sowder was named NAIA Women's Coach of the Year. This is his second NAIA National Coach of the Year award of his career, as he earned the men's COY last season. Coach Sowder talked about his team's performance today saying "We have been building up to this ... We knew that if we put it all out there and just did what were capable of then we could come out on top of the podium."

Abia Kante started the women's day in the 60m dash, where a 7.69 time earned one point for the Pats. She then followed with a fourth-place finish in the 200m for five more points, and her third All-American medal of the championships.

The 3000m also saw a Patriot finish fourth overall as Sharon Jemeli earned the first All-American honors of her career at UC. The freshman clocked a 9:47.77 to give UC five more points towards the team total.

Alina Boshchuk continued her amazing career with a third-place performance in the 5K. She crossed the finish line in 16:52.26 for six points and a new program record.

UC's DMR competed in the final race of the championships for UC. Boshchuk, coming straight off her 5K race, ran the first leg before Lillian Guzman handled the 400m portion. She then passed the honors to Elizabeth Lucason for the 800m before Jemeli took over as the anchor, crossing the finish line for a combined school record time of 11:55.90. This gave the Pats four more points and solidified the championship, putting them up more than 10 points heading into the final event of the day.

Cumberlands bring home the first red banner in program history, and now give UC athletics four NAIA National Championships. The Patriots won by 10 points with Doane placing second after scoring 48. Madonna followed close behind with 45 points while Life scored 44 points for fourth. Taylor rounded out the top-five with 35 points, respectively.

UC now look ahead to the outdoor season, where they will look to replicate their success.
