Williamsburg, KY – UC's men won a trio of track events and two more field events to highlight their senior day in Williamsburg.
The day started with UC's 4x100 relay squads finishing one, two, three. The A squad of
Cam Andrews,
Travion Dotson,
Iloba Godspower, and
Donte Sol clocked a 40.57 for the win followed by
Eddie Van Wyk,
Daniel Dixon,
Kerrington Eubanks, and
Roderick Soto who crossed the finish in 41.34 for second.
Matthew Chavers,
Ryan Long,
Isaiah Oquendo, and
Grayson Rahbany rounded out the Patriots in the relay with a third-place finish.
UC also won the 4x400, where they had four different squads place in the top five. The top finisher featured Dotson, Chavers, Eubanks, and Oquendo who combined for a 3:18.85 finish. The second-place team of Godspower, Long, Sol, and Rahbany ran a 3:19.77 for the silver.
Hauke Trost,
Ishak Mekideche,
Clay Hogue, and
Jackson Lowe finished fourth in 3:28.87 while
Caleb Rigney,
Daniel Hoxha,
Ryan Ehrler, and
Maddox Knight rounded out the Patriots in the event with a 3:31.15 for fifth.
The 3000m steeplechase saw just one Patriot entry in
Bartosz Trojniar. The freshman won the race with a 9:38.84 finish.
Lucas Lambo led the throwers on Saturday as he won the hammer throw. Lambo finished with a 51.26m best for the gold while
Bailey Muncy recorded a 41.45m throw for fourth.
Jack Lamey Jr. followed in fifth place after a 39.25m mark with
Byron Collier just behind him in sixth behind a 35.33m toss.
Riley Massey and
Jayvon Crawford rounded out the Pats top-10 finishers with marks of 33.40m and 30.13m, respectively. Lambo, Barber, and Massey also placed in the top-six in the shot put. Lambo and Barber finished second and third in 14.09m and 12.80m with Massey placing sixth with a 11.25m mark.
Nigel Steenwinkel was the final Patriot thrower in action, placing seventh with a 10.44m toss.
The final field event winner of the meet for UC was
Logan Stamper who recorded a 12.78m triple jump mark to place first overall.
Six Pats finished in the top-10 in the 800m run on Saturday. Knight was the top Patriot in the race with a 1:57.75 time for second.
Reed Richardson ran a 1:59.10 for third with Mekideche and Lowe posting times of 1:59.36 and 1:59.40 to complete the top-five. Rigney finished eighth in 2:00.20 followed by
Christopher Morse who crossed the finish line in 2"01.24 for ninth.
Three Pats finished together in the 110m hurdles with
Alvaro Legaz leading the charge. The sophomore leaned across the line at 15.00 for second followed by Steenwikel's 15.15 for third.
Brandon Green was just behind him with a 15.26 time for fourth.
Four more Pats ran in the 100m dash, clocking impressive times. Sol was the top finisher with a 10.75 to place third overall. Van Wyk sprinted to the line in 10.81 for fifth while Dixon and Rahbany ran 100m times of 10.92 and 11.06 for seventh and ninth overall.
Cumberlands will be back in action next week as they will travel to Wake Forrest and Georgia Tech for a pair of highly competitive meets.
