Winston-Salem, NC – A pair of Patriots ran in the 5000m open at the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday and put together stellar performances, both crossing the finish line faster than the previous school record.
 
Alina Boshchuk was the top UC finisher, breaking her own school record with a 16:52.91 finish. This marks the first sub-17 minute 5K in program history. This is also the fifth-fastest in the NAIA this season. UC's Sharon Jemeli also ran in the 5000m with a top-10 finish, clocking a 17:06.50 for ninth overall. Her time is a top-10 mark in the NAIA this season as well.
 
Cumberlands will return to the track tomorrow as they finish the Wake Forest Invitational. They will also be competing at Georgia Tech where the Patriot sprinters will look to continue their impressive season.
