Austin, TX – The Cumberlands men's swimming & diving team is coming off a great season and on Wednesday capped of their season with four swimmers earning CSC Academic All-America
® honors, officials announced. The Patriots four honorees are the most from any school across all divisions.
Leon Irmer,
Agustin Rasche,
Marcelo Rojas, and
Ruthiik Satti were the four UC swimmers that earned this distinction. This quartet played an instrumental role in Cumberlands capturing the Mid-South Conference Championship as well as placing fourth at the NAIA National Championship. They combined for 19 NAIA All-American honors and 20 MSC First Team All-Conference accolades this season.
Irmer earned Academic All-America
® honors after tallying five NAIA All-American honors this season. The Rostock, Germany native notched a sixth place finish in the 100 breast at nationals, clocking a 55.69. Irmer was also part of four Patriots relays that garnered NAIA All-American honors, including thew 400 medley relay that posted a runner-up finish. The junior won the 100 breast at the MSC Championships, while posting fourth place finishes in both the 50 free and 200 breast. He holds the second fastest 100 breast time (54.57) in program history, while his 2:04.30 in the 200 breast is seventh fastest in the program. Irmer is double majoring in Business Administration and Communication Arts.
A strong sophomore campaign with the Patriots earns Rasche CSC Academic All-America
® honors. The sophomore is a six-time NAIA All-American. Rasche placed eighth in the 50 free, touching the wall in 20.53 to earn All-American honors, while scoring in the consolation final of both the 100 free and 200 free at the NAIA Championship. The Berlin, Germany native was a pivotal part of Cumberlands relays being on all five relays that captured All-American honors. At the MSC Championship, Rasche broke the meet record as he clocked a 44.96 to win the 100 free, while also taking top honors in the 50 free. The sophomore broke UC's 100 free program record with a time of 44.37 at the Centre Invite. Rasche was the 2024 MSC Freshman of the Year and an 11x NAIA All-American for UC. He is majoring in Business Administration.
Rojas was a three-time NAIA All-American and three-time MSC First Team All-Conference selection. The sophomore captured All-American honors in all three of his individual events. Rojas notched a fifth-place finish in the 400 IM, clocking a 3:59.01. He also broke UC's 400 IM record touching the wall in 3:58.28 during the prelims. Rojas holds the fourth fastest 200 fly time (1:49.53), while his 56.39 in the 100 breast is fifth in program history. He also clocked a 1:50.26 in the 200 IM to place fifth in the 200 IM at nationals. Rojas notched a trio of wins at the MSC Championships. He is major in business administration.
Satti had a breakout season for the Patriots highlighted by earning MSC Swimmer of the Year honors. Ruthiik is a six-time NAIA All-American and a seven-time MSC First Team All-Conference selection. The junior captured All-American honors in both the 100 back (48.02) and 200 back (1:46.28) after placing fourth and third, respectively. Satti was also a key part of four Patriots relays that posted top-five finishes, including three that notched top-three finishes. Satti won all three of his individual events at the Mid-South Conference championship including breaking the meet record of 49.35 in the 100 backstroke. The junior holds the second fastest time in program history in both the 100 back (48.02) and the 200 back (1:46.28), while he is ranked third in both the 100 fly (49.03) and the 200 IM (1:50.59). Satti is a 13x NAIA All-American over his Patriot career and is majoring in Business Administration.
