Men Close Weekend with Numerous Top Performances

Anderson, SC – The Patriots posted great performances across three different meets on Saturday. The multis finished their weekend at the Electric City Invite while UC's remaining athletes competed at Centre and Tennessee.
 
Nigel Steenwinkel won the decathlon in South Carolina after scoring 6639 points, the second most in the NAIA this season. Seth Massie followed with a second-place finish after scoring 6300 points, the sixth best decathlon mark this season. Alvaro Legaz rounded out UC's decathletes on Saturday, scoring 5696 points for fourth. 
 
In Tennessee, Kerrington Eubanks ran a 10.42 100m for ninth overall, hitting the B standard. Isaiah Oquendo ran a 10.61 for 18th while Jordan Afolayan ran a 10.66 for 21st. The 4x100 of Afolayan, Oquendo, Ryan Long, and Eubanks crossed the finish line in 41.21, just four hundredths of a second off the national standard. Brandon Green raced in the 110 hurdles, finishing in 15.51 while Grayson Rahbany ran a 49.20 400m
 
The 800m saw Maddox Knight run a 1:56.18 for 20th followed by Jackson Lowe who ran a 1:59.71 for 38th. Bartosz Trojinar ran in the steeplechase for UC, crossing the finish line in 9:57.67 for sixth overall.
 
The remainder of UC's athletes were in Danville, KY for the Centre Invite. Caleb Rigney picked up the first win of the meet with a 4:05.84 1500m finish while Daniel Hoxha ran a 4:10.93 for third.
 
Devonte Davis was the lone Patriot in the 400m, running a 51.02 for fifth. Later in the 800m run, Reed Richardson posted a top-five finish after clocking a 1:59.30. Christopher Morse ran a 2:03.18 for ninth in the 800m as well.
 
In the throws, Bailey Muncy and Austin Meacham posted top-10 finishes in the hammer throw. Muncy finished third with a 42.25m mark while Meacham's 36.54m toss placed ninth. Muncy also competed in the discus, placing 10th with a 38.10m best. Jack Lamey Jr. finished runner-up in the javelin with a 51.79m mark. Dratavyn Barber then finished ninth in the shot put with an 11.90m mark.
 
The Pats will return to the track next weekend as they host their third and final home meet of the season.
