Mobile, AL - The #13 seeded Cumberlands Men's Tennis team will begin the NAIA National Tournament on Tuesday against #20 seed Tennessee Southern. UC enters the postseason for the sixth consecutive time and eighth time overall.
The Patriots finished the regular season with an 18-8 overall record and a 5-1 mark in conference play.
Cumberlands was tested with a tough schedule but was able to secure seven wins against opponents ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches' Poll.
UT Southern enters the tournament with a 12-7 overall record with a 4-2 record in conference action. The Firehawks fell in the Quarterfinals of the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament but were able to secure an at-large bid.
The Patriots and Firehawks have faced off three times, with UC winning all three matchups. These two squads last faced off in 2023 for a non-conference matchup, where the Pats earned a 6-1 victory.
The first-round matchup will take place at the Mobile Tennis Center on Tuesday, May 13th, at 1 p.m. EST. The winner advances to face #4 seed Our Lady of the Lake (Texas.) the following day.
