CSC Academic All-America Team
Austin, TX – A pair of Patriots were named CSC Academic All-Americans for their standout performances both on the field and in the classroom, CSC officials announced Tuesday afternoon. Carly Oliver and Lindsey Shope become just the second duo to earn these honors in program history.
 
Carly Oliver is now a three-time CSC Academic All-America honoree and finds herself on the CSC First Team for the second year in a row. She becomes the first player in program history to earn CSC All-America three times in a career. The second baseman was also an NAIA and NFCA All-American this year.
 
Oliver hit .423 on the season and was the team leader in hits (60), doubles (17), and RBI (50). The Georgetown, KY native became the Patriots all-time leader in home runs and doubles this season. She hit eight homers on the year and also led the team in walks with 23. Defensively she is one of the most talented infielders in the country, earning MSC gold-glove honors with 85 put outs and just one error for a .995 fielding percentage.
 
Lindsey Shope secured a spot on the CSC Second Team after an incredible graduate senior season for the Patriots. She becomes the first UC pitcher to earn a spot as a CSC Academic All-America honoree.
 
Shope was electric for UC in the circle this season, posting a 23-5 overall record for the most wins in a season in program history. Shope appeared in 32 games with 30 starts and finished with a 1.69 ERA. She threw 16 complete games and four shutouts, while striking out 69 batters. The Williamsburg, KY native finished her career with a 1.85 ERA to become UC's record holder as well.
 
The duo were the only two members from the Mid-South Conference to earn a spot on a CSC Academic All-America team this year.
 
The CSC recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
