Williamsburg, KY – After playing a vital role in helping their respective team pick up non-conference wins, goalie Morgan White and defensive back Patrick Ostergreen have been named the Pepsi Athletes of the Week, the athletic department announced Monday.
 
Morgan White earned athlete of the week honors after a nearly flawless performance during the Patriots trip to the Sunshine State.  White tallied 17 saves and posted a .944 save percentage over two matches.  The freshman opened the week making a career-high ten saves, including seven in the first half as Cumberlands defeated St. Thomas.  The Louisville, KY native followed that up with a seven save performance against top-ranked Keiser.  White made a pair of diving saves to her left throughout the match and closed out the match with a save in the final seconds to earn the clean sheet.
 
Patrick Ostergreen earned athlete of the week honors after a stellar performance in the Patriots win over Bryan.  The sophomore recorded a career-high four points, including netting his first collegiate goal.  Ostergreen's goal came in the 10' off a strong cross by Antonis Seraphides to extend UC's lead to 2-0.  The Odense, Denmark native helped set up two more Patriots goals from the back line.  In the 17' he started a transition that led to a Bruno Marques goal and in the 75' he connected with Luca Piazza for the finish.  In addition to his effort on the offensive side of the pitch, Ostergreen also was a key part of UC's backline that limited Bryan to just two shots in the match.
