Bowling Green, KY – For the second time this season, #14 UC Volleyball swept the Mid-South Conference weekly honors as three Patriots were recognized for their standout performances. Sara Zampedri was named MSC Attacker of the Week, Davey Slaughter earned MSC Defender of the Week, and Savanah Jolly collected MSC Setter of the Week.
Junior outside hitter Sara Zampedri averaged 4.33 kills per set while hitting .375 to power 14th-ranked Cumberlands to a pair of sweeps. Against Campbellsville in the conference opener, Zampedri led the way with 16 kills, seven digs, and three aces, before adding 10 kills and four digs in UC's win over Midway. She closed the week with 26 kills, 11 digs, three aces, and two blocks, earning her third weekly honor of the season and the 10th of her career.
Libero Davey Slaughter anchored the defense, pacing the Patriots with 24 digs, 4.00 digs per set, across the two matches. She tallied 12 digs and five assists in the road sweep over Campbellsville before posting another 12 digs and a career-high six aces against Midway. This marks her second MSC Defender of the Week honor this season and the second of her career.
Setter Savanah Jolly directed the UC attack, averaging 10.83 assists per set as Cumberlands improved to 15-0. She recorded 37 assists to go along with three kills and five digs against Campbellsville, then added 28 assists and four aces in the victory over Midway. Across the week, Jolly totaled 65 assists, 11 digs, five kills, and five aces, earning her fourth MSC weekly honor of the season and the fifth of her career.
The #14 Patriots will return home for a marquee conference matchup on Tuesday, September 23, when they host (RV) Lindsey Wilson inside the UC Volleyball Gym.
