Bowling Green, KY - Just days after capturing her first career tournament victory, Patriots junior Ainslee Cruce has been named the Mid-South Conference Golfer of the Week. This is the second weekly honor of Cruce's career and the first earned by a Patriot this season.
Cruce secured her breakthrough win at the East Tennessee Collegiate, firing a 36-hole total of 143 (-1), just three strokes shy of the program's all-time record.
The Bowling Green, KY native set the tone early with a bogey-free front nine and six birdies in her opening round, including three straight on holes 12–14, to finish the day with an even-par 72 and the tournament lead. She followed it up with another strong round, carding five birdies on her way to a 71 (-1) to clinch the individual title.
The Patriots return to the green on October 13-14 at the Gibson Bay Invitational, hosted by Lindsey Wilson University in Richmond, Kentucky.
