Williamsburg, KY - The University of the Cumberlands men's and women's tennis teams are set to open the 2026 spring season with a competitive slate as both programs look to build on last year's momentum. Head Coach Chin Tan continues to lead the Patriots in his 37th season as UC prepares for a schedule that features strong non-conference tests, key Mid-South Conference matchups, and postseason opportunities.
The spring opens on January 17th with the women's team traveling to Louisville, Kentucky for a road matchup against NCAA Division I opponent Bellarmine University. Both programs will then head to Harrogate, Tennessee in early February to compete in the LMU Indoor Invite, beginning February 6th. During the weekend, the Patriots will face Tusculum, Lincoln Memorial, King, and Carson-Newman in a demanding stretch against quality regional opponents.
From February 13th–15th, Cumberlands will compete on the national stage at the ITA/NAIA National Indoor Championships in Rome, Georgia, providing an early-season measuring stick against some of the top teams in the country.
February 20th-22nd, the Patriots will travel to Georgia Gwinnett to compete against high level opponents for the second weekend in a row, further continuing to test their strength.
Conference play ramps up at the end of February as the Patriots travel to Freed-Hardeman on February 27th before taking on UT Southern the following day on February 28th. UC then returns home to open the month of March with a matchup against Jacksonville State on March 5th at the UC Tennis Complex.
The Patriots will continue a home-heavy stretch with Centre College on March 14th before traveling to Lindsey Wilson on March 16th. Cumberlands then welcomes conference rival Campbellsville to the UC Tennis Complex on March 25th.
April features crucial Mid-South Conference contests, beginning with a road match at Georgetown on April 3rd. UC will close out the regular season at home on April 10th against Bethel, setting the stage for postseason play.
The Mid-South Conference Championships are scheduled for April 17th–19th, where both the men's and women's teams will look to secure a spot in the national tournament and continue their pursuit of championship success.
