Bowling Green, KY – Following a shutout performance in the Mid-South Conference Tournament quarterfinals, University of the Cumberlands graduate student goalkeeper Zachary Dean has been named the MSC Defensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. It marks Dean's second weekly honor of the season.

Dean played all 90 minutes between the posts in Cumberlands' 1-0 quarterfinal victory over Freed-Hardeman, helping the Patriots advance in the conference tournament. The Wellington, New Zealand native stopped both shots on goal he faced to preserve the shutout.

Dean finished the match with a 0.00 goals-against average and a 1.000 save percentage, recording two saves in the Patriots' lone match of the week.

The Patriots return to the pitch on Thursday, November 5, for the MSC Tournament semifinals at Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. CT.
