Bowling Green, KY – After a pair of dominant starts on the mound,
Stuart Tharle has been named the Mid-South Conference Pitcher of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
The junior from Greenway, Australia earned two wins to help No. 6 Cumberlands improve to 9-0 on the season. Across 10 innings in two starts, Tharle did not allow a run while surrendering just four hits and striking out 11 batters.
He opened the week by tossing five scoreless innings, allowing only one hit and striking out six in a win over West Virginia Tech. Tharle followed that performance with another five-shutout innings against Siena Heights (Mich.), scattering three hits and recording five strikeouts.
The honor marks the first Mid-South Conference weekly award of Tharle's career.
Tharle and the rest of the Patriots will be back in action tomorrow to take on #5 Tennessee Wesleyan in Athens, TN.
