Kingsport, TN – After earning a pair of wins on the week, Cumberlands goalie
Mikayla Kimsey was named the AAC Defensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. It marks her first weekly honor of her Patriot career.
Kimsey notched 15 saves and a .625 save percentage on the week as UC captured a pair of road wins. She opened the week with nine saves, four ground balls, and a caused turnover as the Pats defeated #10 Ave Maria. The sophomore followed it up with six saves, a .667 save %, and a ground ball in the win over (RV) St. Thomas.
The Jacksonville, Fl native has posted a .683 save percentage on the season to go along with 28 saves. She has also anchored Cumberlands defense that has limited opponents to just three second half goals on the season.
Cumberlands returns home to face (RV) Marian on Saturday, February 28
