Williamsburg, KY – After earning a pair of key road wins, two Patriots player garnered national honors.
Mikayla Kimsey garnered NAIA Defensive Player of the Week honors, while
Ashlee Baker was named the IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.
Kimsey earned NAIA Defensive Player of the Week after tallying 15 saves and a .625 save percentage on the week as UC captured a pair of road wins. She opened the week with nine saves, four ground balls, and a caused turnover as the Pats defeated #10 Ave Maria. The sophomore followed it up with six saves, a .667 save %, and a ground ball in the win over (RV) St. Thomas.
Baker was named IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week after pacing the Patriots with nine points. The junior opened the week with four goals as Cumberlands pulled away for a win against #10 Ave Maria. Baker followed that up with three goals and two assists for a team-high five points against (RV) St. Thomas. The Las Vegas, NV native notched a 70.0% shooting percentage on the week.
UC is 5-0 on the season after sweeping there three-game trip to Florida.
