Elkhart, IN – The Cumberlands men's swimming team opened the 2026 NAIA Championships on a high note as they recorded a runner-up finish in the 200-medley relay. After day 1 the Patriots sit in ninth place of the team standings after tallying 34 points.
Cumberlands opened finals with a bang capturing a national runner-up finish in the 200 medley relay.
Brandon Holder opened with a 22.52 in the backstroke, before
Leon Irmer clocked a 24.52 on breaststroke.
Ruthiik Satti followed with a 21.79 as
Alexander Poulsen anchored in 19.04 as UC clocked a time of 1:27.87. That time surpassed the school record by over a half second as they also notched All-American honors.
The Patriots return to the water Thursday, March 5
th, for day two of the NAIA Championship. Prelims are at 9 a.m. with finals beginning at 5 p.m. Fans can catch all the action from Elkhart, IN
