WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Pats men and women competed on the opening day of the Wake Forest Invitational, hitting a pair of national standards.
Luca Madeo finished with the top performance of the night in non-ideal conditions, clocking a 29:46.32 10K finish for sixth overall and an A standard. Madeo's first outdoor race of the season ranks second in the NAIA this season.
On the women's side,
Lea Kunstmann was the lone Patriot to race on Thursday. She ran the 5000m, finishing sixth overall in 17:11.87. Her time ranks eighth in the NAIA this season and clipped the NAIA B standard.
The men's 800m featured a pair of Pats.
Kyle Crady finished first in his heat with a 1:53.72 while
Hugo Massa came in at 1:54.07.
Niklas Scherb rounded out UC's competitors in the men's 5K, clocking a 15:37.35 for 23
rd overall.
UC will be back for the final day at Wake Forest tomorrow as wel as the Centre Invitational in Danville, KY.
