Bowling Green, KY – A breakout week at the plate has earned
Caden Petrey Mid-South Conference Player of the Week honors, conference officials announced Monday.
Petrey helped lead No. 9 Cumberlands to a 3-1 record with wins over Midway (Ky.) and Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.), batting an impressive .615 on the week. The senior went 8-for-13 at the plate, delivering consistent production throughout the series.
He recorded two three-hit performances, highlighted by a perfect 3-for-3 outing against Freed-Hardeman where he blasted two home runs and drove in a pair of RBIs. Petrey closed the week with three home runs, four RBIs, three walks, and eight runs scored, while posting a .688 on-base percentage.
The honor marks Petrey's first Mid-South Conference weekly award of the season.
