Bowling Green, KY – The University of the Cumberlands men's golf team closed out the Mid-South Conference Championship with a fourth-place finish, carding a three-round team total of 886 (+22) against a strong seven-team field.
The Patriots opened the tournament with a strong first round, shooting 292 (+4) to sit tied for second alongside Campbellsville and just behind leader Lindsey Wilson. UC remained in contention throughout the event before finishing with their best round of the tournament on the final day, firing a team score of 287 (-1) to secure fourth place overall.
University of the Cumberlands was led by Pedro Morgado, who delivered an impressive third-place finish after posting rounds of 72 (E), 74 (+2), and 71 (-1) for a three-round total of 217 (+1). Morgado also totaled nine birdies during the championship.
Thomas White added a top-10 finish for the Patriots, tying for ninth overall with rounds of 74 (+2), 74 (+2), and 72 (E) to finish at 220 (+4), while recording 10 birdies across the event.
Eli Fischer turned in one of the best final rounds of the tournament for UC, shooting 70 (-2) in round three to finish tied for 16th overall at 224 (+8). He also matched the team-high with 10 birdies.
Colby Johnson finished tied for 23rd with a total score of 228 (+12), while Alexei Butchart rounded out the lineup in 29th place with a 236 (+20).
Final team standings saw Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) claim the conference title at (+11), followed by Bethel (Tenn.) (+19), and Cumberland (Tenn.) (+21).
The Patriots will now turn their attention to the NAIA National Championships, where they await their postseason fate. The NAIA Field Review is scheduled for Friday, May 1 at 3:00 PM CT.
