Kansas City, MO – The University of the Cumberlands women's golf team is headed back to the NAIA National Championship for the fourth consecutive season after capturing the Mid-South Conference Championship and securing the league's automatic bid.
For the first time since the 2022-23 season, the Patriots claimed the Mid-South Conference title, finishing with a three-round team score of 933 (+69) to top a tightly contested championship field.
Cumberlands opened the tournament in second place after round one with a team score of 312 (+24), trailing only Lindsey Wilson. The Patriots remained in contention after round two with a 314 (+26), sitting just two strokes off the lead heading into the final round. UC closed strong with a final-round 307 (+19) to overtake the field and secure the conference championship.
Leading the Patriots was
Atchariya Thanaudomkul, who finished third overall with rounds of 74 (+2), 79 (+7), and 76 (+4) for a total score of 229 (+13). She also recorded five birdies during the championship.
Final team standings saw Cumberlands (+69) finish first, followed by Cumberland (Tenn.) (+73), Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) (+74), and Bethel (Tenn.) (+106).
With the victory, the Patriots earned the Mid-South Conference's automatic bid to the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship.
The 31st Annual NAIA Women's Golf National Championship will take place May 19-22, 2026 at Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The championship will feature a four round stroke play format with a 30-team field of 156 golfers. Each team will consist of five players (minimum of four), with the top four scores counting toward the team total each day. A cut will be made after 36 holes. Tee times and pairings for the national championship will be announced on Monday, May 11.
