Bowling Green, KY – Following a pair of shutout performances, University of the Cumberlands graduate student goalkeeper Zachary Dean has been named the Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. It marks Dean's first weekly conference honor.  

In his first two starts of the season, Dean recorded back-to-back shutouts across 180 minutes in goal. The Wellington, New Zealand native stopped all three shots on goal he faced during the week, finishing with a 0.00 goals-against average and a 1.000 save percentage. 

Dean opened the week with a clean sheet in Cumberlands' 4-0 win over Georgetown. He followed that performance with another shutout in the Patriots' 1-0 win over #6 Georgia Gwinnett, a team averaging 2.57 goals per game.
