Carlee Shoemaker earned women's athlete of the week honors after earning Medalist honors at the Mid-South Conference Championships. Shoemaker carded a 54-hole total of 227 to post her first collegiate win by two strokes. The sophomore started the tournament shooting a 79 in the opening round to be in seventh place, however followed it up with a three-over-par, 75, in the second to jump into fourth. Shoemaker saved her best performance for last as she recorded the lowest round of the tournament, a one-over-par, 73, in the final round for the victory. The Central City, KY native sank seven birdies on the week to become the fifth consecutive Patriot to earn Medalist honors at the MSC Tournament. Her performance also helped UC capture their eighth straight MSC tournament victory.
