University of the Cumberlands Athletics

Will Rogers earned athlete of the week honors after an impressive debut for the Patriots, where he tallied six goals and six assists, over the opening weekend.  The freshman tallied six points in both games on the weekend as he opened with four goals, two assists, and two caused turnovers against William Penn.  The Evansville, IN native netted two goals in the first quarter as part of a 7-0 run for UC.  He added two goals and an assist in the second half to finish tied for the team lead in points.   Rogers followed that up with a team-high four assists to go along with two goals and six ground balls in Cumberlands 12-9 win over #5 St. Ambrose.  The newcomer tallied three assists and a goal in the first half helping UC jump out to a 7-2 lead.  Rogers capped off the day by netting the first goal of the third quarter and in the closing minutes finding Maalek Wilson for a goal to secure the win and help Cumberlands open the season 2-0.
