Mackenzie Keatts earned athlete of the week honors after she hit .524 with 11 hits, four extra base hits, seven runs scored, and eight RBI. The freshman tallied a hit in every game on the week and compiled four straight multi-hit games and three multi-RBI games. Keatts opened the week going 4-7 with four runs scored in the sweep over Bryan. The Smyrna, TN native belted a homerun in the first game of day before added a triple in game two. She followed that up with a pair of hits and two RBI against Taylor, before going 2-2 with three stolen bases against IU South Bend. The freshman closed out the week with a hit in each of the final three games, including a two-run shot in the bottom of the first to help UC defeat (RV) Rio Grande 4-2. Her performance helped UC go 6-1 on the week and improve to 9-1 overall.
