Kaitlyn Shields earned athlete of the week honors after earning four podium finishes including earning first three times.  Shields opened the week leading the field wire-to-wire at the USA Archery 3D Regionals.  The graduate student opened with a 208 in the first round, which was the highest score by any women’s fixed pin archer of the day.  Shields finished with a 407, including achieving nine 12’s over the two rounds to earn the top spot.  The Saginaw, MI native carded four ten’s in the individual shootdowns to record a 56 to finish tied for second.  Shields won a one-arrow shoot-off to earn the silver medal.  Shields also earned gold medals as part of the women’s fixed pin team rounds and the mixed fixed pins rounds.
